Story

I'm hosting a Tea for Endo this March to support the 1 in 10 with this disease.

I am one of these 1/10 women who have this horrible disease. From my first ever period I suffered with chronic pain and headaches. When I was 21, I had incredible pain in my lower back and was told it was kidney issues, for 5 years I was told by doctors that it was my kidneys and put on long term antibiotics.

January 2024, I was in incredible pain, to the point I was passing out at work. I could not cope with the pain and constant trips to the hospital to be told it was just period pains and that’s what it is to be a woman.

I spent 3 months crying with pain. To be put on a cocktail of pain medication and given no answers.

I was in a fortunate situation where I could go private, and finally I was given some answers. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and told I needed an operation in order to remove it.

06/06/24 I underwent abdominal surgery to remove the endometriosis. It was found to be growing on my pelvic bone and ovarian ligaments.

This is my first endometriosis surgery, and is likely to not be my last. Endometriosis grows back and at the moment there is not a cure.

Fast forward to February 2025, when I am writing this post. I have limited pain. However, the long term effects on my fertility and mental health have stayed with me.

Thank you for reading my story, and thank you for donating to this cause. Let’s make sure no other women have to go YEARS being undiagnosed.
