Charity boxing event with 'Fight Club Newcastle' · 4 May 2023

The mission of HopeFull is to provide practical support to the huge number of internally displaced Ukrainians, traumatised by the Russian invasion of their homeland.

Story

I am taking part in a charity boxing event run by “Fight Club Newcastle”, for which I'm independently raising money and awareness for a charity that is playing a crucial role in supporting Ukrainian refugees. I have concerns that this issue is not spoken about enough and wanted to reiterate the importance of continuing our help for as long as needed.

Siobhan’s Trust is a small, registered, family run charity that delivers hope through rapid operation of mobile kitchens to the displaced and struggling in war-torn, disaster-struck and dis-advantaged communities.

The charity has been focusing on Ukraine, the mission being to provide food and practical support to the millions of internally displaced Ukrainians who have been traumatised by the invasion of their homeland.

The six mobile food trucks contain multiple pizza ovens which currently venture out from bases in Lviv and Zaporizhzhia across the whole of Ukraine feeding up to 5,000 refugees, mainly women, children and elderly, per day. The pizzas are supplemented with fruit, coffee, tea and hot chocolate as well as sweets and treats for the children. Alongside this the trucks play music and volunteers interact with the communities to bring a brief reminder of happiness to those that need it most.

My uncle Jozef Mycielski, is a strategic advisor to Siobhan’s Trust and has been in Ukraine multiple times to help on the pizza trucks. He says “Seeing the impact of Siobhan’s Trust’s work is humbling and overwhelming. Pizza makes people smile, feel good food at feel sad times; we play music, chat, listen, laugh and cry with these most resilient people. The team being in Ukraine gives them hope, support and love at a vulnerable and frightening time.”

It costs £1 per pizza, One pizza feeds 2 refugees.

£10 can feed 20 refugees.

Lets all try and come together to raise £2,500 and feed 5,000 refugees.

Making pizza not war.

Please kindly donate what you can; as you can see, every penny counts. And if you can't give then please do share on all your platforms.
