Story
From Inês & Lucy:
We just came back from Uganda & are fundraising to the AMAZING Uganda Lodge Community Projects Charity.
They have been struggling with funding since COVID (as most of the revenue was coming from international volunteers) & are in need of vital funds to keep running their school, medical center, clean water supply, vocational center as well as ensuring kids have access to at least a free meal a day.
To help in this, we are setting up a 'fun-d-raiser' event, next 11th November, which is also our joint birthday party! :)
Please donate £10pp here as an entry cost. 100% of which goes directly to the charity & straight into the community.
&& remember - The pound goes a long way there :)
Thank you!
Background on the charity:
UK Grandmother Ann McCarthy first went to Ruhanga in south-west Uganda in 2005 and was invited by her safari driver, Denis Aheirwe, to see his village. He had dreams of building a Guest House and provide jobs for local villagers. He introduced Ann to his friends and before long she committed to opening a much needed nursery and primary school. A school was built and money raised for a clean water supply & medical centre. We are now completing a vocational training centre, but also need funds for the daily running of the project.
The charity has helped thousands of children to date which otherwise wouldn’t have any access to education. The school started with few pupils and now has 500. These kids now also have access to medical care funded by the project, clean water as well as food provided by the school.
