Multiple Events
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, this page has been set up by Steve Ashman, Dave's son, but is the home of fundraising for all the family; Julie, Pete, Kim, Sam & their respective partners, children & pets!
We are raising money for Sobell House and the Critical Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in memory of Dave Ashman. Dave sadly passed away in June 2024 and in the week before this was a patient of the Critical Care Unit and Sobell House. As a family, we couldn't be more grateful to the incredible doctors, nurses, and JR and Sobell House staff. They went above and beyond not only for Dave but also for us.
Dave was an incredible man who brought so much joy and happiness to the lives of everyone he met as well as many 'Dave/Dad' jokes. We are proud to complete these challenges in his honour and hope to hit our combined target of £12,000 to help these essential places continue their outstanding work.
Please keep an eye on this page for updates on challenges. The first challenge was Abingdon Marathon, which Dave's sons Pete and Steve will completed on October 20th in under 4.5 hours and the second challenge was a 24 hour row-a-thon which saw us hit over half of our fundraising target! Pete and Steve covered 295.5km on a concept 2 rower, alternating an hour off / on between them!
The next fundraiser is being undertaken by Steve and his wife, Helen, who are going to hike and summit Snowdon six times in six days (a different route each day!) starting on March 31st 2025, with some additional family and friends joining them along the way including Julie whose aiming to complete the summit three times, Kim and Greg for the finale climb as well as Helen’s parents.
Later in the year in September, Steve is taking part in a full distance Ironman in Tenby whilst his wife Helen is also going on to take on a 50km ultra walking challenge in a day a week later. There is also talk of a spin-a-thon in May!
Thank you for taking the time to read this far and we gratefully receive any donations to such a wonderful cause in memory of the best father, husband and grumpy. Please keep an eye on this page for further updates and future challenges!
