As a family we are raising money for Barnsley Hospice by doing a 20km Charity Walk! We are not the fittest, but we want to give back to a lovely charity who we have seen first hand the work they do.

We sadly lost our dad (and friend) on the 29th November, and our dad spent the last few days of his life at the Hospice. The care he received was incredible, the staff are the kindest and most caring and he instantly felt safe and comfortable which is all we could ask for.

They supported us during this time, they had a lovely space where we could spend time as a family and even made us breakfast after we had spent nearly 24 hours there.

A little about the hospice:

Barnsley Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care to adults in Barnsley living with a progressive life-limiting illness, and the people close to them.

We need to raise £3.5 million each year to continue our services, and it’s because of our incredible supporters who take on challenges like this that we can achieve this total.
