Story
The members of the Rotary Club of Enfield mourn the passing of our dear friend and long-standing Rotarian, Ron Johnston, a valued and respected member of our club since 1987.
For almost four decades, Ron exemplified the true spirit of Rotary — service above self. His unwavering dedication, generosity of time, and steady presence helped shape the character and strength of our club. Through countless meetings, projects, and community initiatives, Ron’s commitment never wavered. He believed deeply in the power of service to bring people together and to make lasting, positive change in the community.
Ron was more than a member; he was a friend and mentor to many. New members found in him a warm welcome and wise guidance. Long-standing members found in him a dependable colleague and trusted companion. His quiet determination, thoughtful counsel, and good humour enriched our fellowship and strengthened our shared purpose.
Over the years, Ron contributed to numerous charitable activities and community efforts, always willing to lend a hand and offer support wherever it was needed. His legacy is reflected not only in the projects he helped deliver but in the relationships he built and the values he upheld.
As we remember Ron, we honour a life dedicated to service, friendship, and community. His presence will be deeply missed at our meetings and events, but his influence will remain woven into the fabric of our club.
In accordance with his family’s wishes, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to the Rotary Club of Enfield. Throughout his years of service, Ron supported countless charities, and it is fitting that contributions made in his name will enable Rotary — an organisation he trusted and believed in deeply — to distribute those funds wisely and continue the charitable work he cared so much about.
