On Saturday 20th September 2025, 19 brave members of staff from Innovate Tax are taking on the 15km Tough Mudder Challenge.

Tough Mudder is no ordinary run! It is a demanding obstacle course designed to push participants to their physical and mental limits. With muddy terrains, walls to climb, and electric shocks to dodge, it is as much about resilience as it is teamwork. At its core, Tough Mudder is about camaraderie and the Innovate Tax Team will be tackling each obstacle together, supporting one another every step of the way.

The challenge is more than just a test of endurance. It is an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for a cause close to Innovate Tax’s heart – Heartburn Cancer UK (HCUK) in support of our amazing and brave colleague, Francisco Paez, who received a Stage 4 Oesophagus cancer diagnosis this year and in memory of those we've lost to this disease, including Derek, the father of our colleague Rhiana, who sadly passed away recently.

HCUK is a charity that aims to educate the public about the dangers of persistent heartburn, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), and Barrett’s oesophagus. These are conditions that can lead to oesophageal cancer if left untreated. The charity’s mission is to promote early diagnosis, champion research, and support individuals living with reflux related conditions and oesophagus cancer.

By taking part in Tough Mudder, our team aims to shine a light on this important cause to help HCUK continue its lifesaving work.
