Inside Out Symposium 2026: Making the Law Work for Animals

Jo Middleton is raising money for A-law
The UK Centre for Animal Law (A-law) promotes interest in animal law and provides a hub of legal expertise, education and resources to improve the law protecting animal interests. We want to achieve a better legal framework for animals and see existing laws being applied properly. Our vision is a world where animal interests are adequately protected by law.

Story

Canine Principles' Inside Out Symposium 2026 brought together people who care deeply about dogs and the wider animal world. The inaugural event raised funds for 2 charities - A-LAW and Naturewatch Foundation. This is the page supporting the UK Centre for Animal Law (A-LAW).

A-LAW is a volunteer-led charity with a simple, powerful vision: a world where animals are fully protected by law. They identify the legal strategies that turn good intentions into real protection, push for proper enforcement of the laws we already have, and educate the next generation of lawyers, students and advocates so the fight for animals carries on for decades. Their work spans companion animals, farmed animals and wildlife, including the legal questions around extreme dog conformation that so many in our community feel strongly about.

Here's what we love about them: A-LAW has no offices and runs on the goodwill of its volunteers, which means every penny you give goes straight into the legal work that protects animals. Whatever you can spare helps make the law work for the animals who need it most. Thank you for being part of it.
