Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA) has selected Dementia UK as our new chosen charity, running for a two-year term to January 2028.

Dementia UK is the dementia specialist nursing charity. Its nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing support for families affected by all forms of dementia.

Dementia is the leading cause of death in the UK, with nearly one million people living with the condition.

Admiral Nurses work on Dementia UK’s free Helpline, in virtual and face-to-face clinic appointments, and in hospitals, GP practices and communities across the UK. They are there when people need them most, providing health advice, offering compassionate emotional and psychological support and helping families plan for the future. For many, they are a lifeline.

Commenting on the new partnership, Yin Lee, IPA President 2025/26 said:

“I’m delighted that Dementia UK is now the IPA’s chosen charity. For me, it’s deeply personal as my mum lived with dementia for ten years, and I know first-hand the wonderful support the charity provides. Dementia affects thousands of families every year, and the care and guidance offered by Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses is truly invaluable.

In addition to raising money through the IPA, I am personally keen to do more. As such, for the coming year, I am offering all proceeds of my photography – my passion project – to Dementia UK. So, if you need a LinkedIn photo, maternity or baby shoot, please contact me via the IPA to make your portrait raise money for Dementia UK too, so their nurses can stand alongside families in their hardest moments. Email President@ipa.uk.com.”

Joanna Sullivan, Deputy Director of Fundraising at Dementia UK, said:

“We are so grateful to the Insolvency Practitioners Association for selecting Dementia UK as its chosen charity for 2026 and 2027.

One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both – but too many families are left to face it alone. Without the right support, they often find themselves pushed to their physical, emotional and financial limits.

Thanks to the hard work of fundraisers like the IPA, more families than ever will be able to access the life-changing support offered by our nurses.”

If you are affected by dementia and need information or advice, you can call Dementia UK’s Helpline on 0800 888 6678 for support from its specialist nurses. The Helpline is open from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays (except 25th December).

If you prefer, you can book a free online or phone appointment with an Admiral Nurse at dementiauk.org/book.
