Plane Pull Fundraiser · 14 June 2024

Special Olympics is a sport organisation for people with an intellectual disability, currently supporting nearly 8,000 athletes across Ireland, who are training for much more than the physical benefits that come from sport, but the emotional and social development that come from being part of S.O.I.

Story

We are longtime supporters of Special Olympics Ireland (all the way back to 2009). They do amazing work, currently almost 8,000 athletes from across the island of Ireland participate in 15 different sports through Special Olympics.

Insomnia supports them through our collection day annually (with 5 cents being donated from every coffee sold) and their corporate fundraising day. Last year was their first year and we had an amazing day abseiling in Croke Park, raising an incredible €6,621!

This year Special Olympics Ireland are hosting a Plane Pull Fundraiser taking place in Casement Aerodrome, Baldonell on Friday the 14th of June.  This year the Insomnia Plane Pull Crew are: Helen and Tommy from Bettystown, David from Baggot Street, Malee from Malahide, Regional Managers Karolina and Dawid, Key Account Manager Ronan and Facilities Manager Greg.

The challenge will involve The Insomnia Team pulling a 10,450lb airplane, testing your strength and teamwork skills!
