Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Inspire Malawi is a small, volunteer‑run education charity supporting rural schools in Malawi (Charity No. 1135091). Our founder and director, Miss Michelle Rowe, taught PE at Newton Prep between 2019 and 2022. In July 2022 and April 2023, she led teams of Newton Prep staff to Malawi, where together they renovated classrooms at Mlanda Primary School and developed a new library at Theke School.
We are delighted that this partnership continues to flourish. This Easter, Mrs Muirhead, Mrs Goncalves and Ms Aspeling will be travelling to Malawi to help create a new library at Lizulu Primary School. As we operate entirely on a voluntary basis, every single penny raised goes directly towards books and library resources for Lizulu School.
Lizulu Primary School is one of the largest schools in the region, with more than 3,000 pupils, many learning in buildings that are in urgent need of repair. In recent years, Inspire Malawi has helped to build a pre‑school block for the youngest learners and has recently completed a SEND classroom to support children with additional needs.
The new library we have constructed at Lizulu will be a transformative space; an inspiring, much‑needed resource for the whole community. We are now fundraising to fill this beautiful library with high‑quality books and learning materials in both English and Chichewa, enabling pupils and teachers alike to benefit from a vibrant, well‑resourced learning environment.
Thank you, truly, for your generosity and support. Every contribution helps us place books into the hands of children who need them most.
