Story

We are a group of Students currently completing 20 weeks of training in Chelmsford. During our training we are raising money for Essex Search and Rescue.

Essex Search and Rescue give essential support to Essex Police and is made up of a team of Volunteers who provide additional skilled resources 24 hours a day to help the Police locate missing vulnerable people, including young children and those with dementia.

It costs £25,000 a year to run the charity, before any major purchases, and they receive no funding from the Government meaning that they rely solely on charitable donations.

These donations will go towards various projects that Essex Search and Rescue are currently raising money for to include a new Incident Control Vehicle and Thermal Imaging Equipment and Night Vision.

Essex Search & Rescue is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to search for vulnerable missing people. In 2022, they deployed on 114 occasions, a record in their 20 year history. Whether searching on foot, with dogs, on bikes, in canoes, or with drones, their priority is to find the missing person quickly and return them to their loved ones.
