Story
“The Snowdrop Project is a charity that is very close to my heart. The work they do has meant that hundreds of survivors of modern slavery have been able to find freedom in their day to day lives”
The Snowdrop Project is a Sheffield-based charity that provides support for survivors of human trafficking. They offer a range of services including life skills support, counselling, and practical assistance with things like finding employment and accessing healthcare. Their goal is to help survivors rebuild their lives and move towards a brighter future free from their past.
I have been involved with this charity since it was just a seedling, operating from a church store cupboard. When the charity was properly incorporated in 2014, I acted in the board of trustees as its first chairman, and it has held a special place in my heart since.
Snowdrop is unlike any other charity in the sector, providing deep whole-person support to help people who have come out of terrible circumstances, and giving them the handrails they need to get back on their feet, as well as advocating for them in their day to day lives.
