Interforce 24hr Three Peaks Challenge Sepsis Trust 27th June 2025!

Michal Jamriska is raising money for UK Sepsis Trust

Three Peaks in 24hrs :)

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis.

It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.

Sepsis is a serious condition in which the body responds improperly to an infection causing injuries to main organs such as the kidneys, lungs, liver and heart.

This is an illness close to our company’s heart as it has particularly affected one of our own employee’s family members. Our colleague who will also be taking part in this challenge, Brendan Hamill’s family were majorly affected when his sister, Kristin, became very ill suddenly with sepsis. She was admitted to intensive care with kidney, liver and heart failure due to the severe drop in her blood pressure from sepsis and was started on kidney dialysis. She remained in HDU for 4.5 months and on dialysis for 1.5 years before her selfless brother donated one of his kidneys in December 2023. They are now successfully, 1 year post transplant!

We have decided as a company, that we would like to raise awareness for sepsis. Five of our colleagues will be taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge in June to fundraise for the UK Sepsis Trust. We appreciate any donations no matter how big or small, to put towards this amazing charity to help raise as much awareness as possible to ensure that sepsis is caught in individuals quick enough to prevent long term damage.

Some of the images attached below show how much damage can arise through sepsis.
