Alex Jarram is raising money for InterSurgeon
InterSurgeon fosters partnerships in Global Surgery to advance clinical care, training, research and the provision of medical equipment. Partnerships increase access to safe, timely and affordable surgical, obstetric, trauma and anaesthetic (SOTA) care, essential components of healthcare for all.

Story

Welcome to our 2025 InterSurgeon fundraiser. In 2025, millions of people still lack adequate access to surgical care, leading to unnecessary deaths. InterSurgeon seeks to support the global surgery community by providing an online platform to form sustainable global surgical partnerships. From our dynamic map, with customizable tabs to our offer/request system with an automatic matching algorithm, finding a suitable partner has never been easier.

We offer free membership to all on our dynamic site, which is growing with the increasing needs of our membership. Now we urgently need to raise funds to continue our charity's growth, innovation, and capacity development while maintaining free membership. In 2024, we reached 10,431 website visitors 114 countries and grew our membership to 1180 with 168 offers/requests leading to 889 matches and many more organic connections.

We have received wonderful feedback from our members; partnerships formed on InterSurgeon have facilitated service expansion and task-sharing in various regions, surgical education in underserved areas, international collaborative research across borders, and equipment distribution from resource-rich areas to those in dire need.

Here’s what some of our members have shared: One member has made partnerships that increased surgical capacity and training through task-sharing, helping strengthen surgical systems. “This experience was truly transformative for us.” Another member connected with organizations promoting surgical education in their community. “The resources provided were invaluable for dissemination in communities.” A different member successfully connected with peers globally for research opportunities. “These connections are vital for my future training.”

Additionally, a leader from a medical trust highlighted the impact of InterSurgeon on their initiatives: “Since engaging with InterSurgeon members, we’ve seen a significant increase in collaboration opportunities that allow us to send much-needed medical supplies abroad.”

Please help us reach our fundraising target of £50,000 GBP to support surgical staff in making sustainable collaborations as we move towards universal healthcare coverage together.
