24 Hour Three Peaks Challenge · 5 October 2024
Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.
As a business who work in a fast-paced industry, we recognise that finding balance can be tough. With pressures around health & safety, budgets and deadlines to name but a few, the construction and building services industry is a challenging one.
Neglecting mental health in construction has serious consequences and we are keen to highlight this. The statistics that surround it are alarming, with it being tagged as the "silent epidemic". Did you know that Men in particular who work in the construction sector, are three times more likely to commit suicide than men who work in other industries?
We, at Intoheat, want to change the mindset within the construction industry and set an example to others.
This October Intoheat have twelve members of staff varying in age (and sizes!) from 23 to 62 years old who will be attempting to climb the highest Three UK peaks in under 24 hours! These will be in order of Ben Nevis the highest peak in the Scotland and all the UK. Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the highest peak in Wales.
Our chosen charity is CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), who are a suicide prevention charity. CALM provoke conversation, run life-saving services, and bring people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don’t die by suicide. Just £12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life saving call.
