Power to the Pole, 1 June 2023
We develop advanced technologies to rid the world's oceans of plastic

Story

Power to the Pole 💪 is our team challenge to support the World Environmental Initiative #BeatPlasticPollution.

💫So what is our challenge?

We have challenged our team to virtually travel to the North Pole by any means, providing it is "human powered".

London is approximately 2,659 miles (4,280km) from the North Pole and we are challenging our team to cover that distance through "human powered exercise in just one month. Which if driven, would create 1.5 t- of CO2 in a typical mid-range petrol car!

This works out at around 10km per person per day for a whole month, so it's not an easy challenge but one we are confident we can smash!!

🏃‍♂️ What counts as a "human powered" activity:

Walking

Running

Cycling

Swimming

Rowing

🏍️ What doesn't count:

Any distance that is "power assisted" in anyway, so no e-bikes, e-scooters or cars!

We decided to coincide this challenge with World Environment Day on the 5th of June and their theme of ‘Solutions to Plastic Pollution’. Therefore the Invennt team have agreed that all sponsorship will go towards The Ocean Clean Up, a fantastic charity doing amazing things to clean up the worlds oceans of plastic pollution https://theoceancleanup.com/

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and we hope you can join us in our effort to make the Ocean plastic free!

About the charity

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization, developing advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. By utilizing the ocean currents to our advantage, our passive drifting systems are estimated to clean up half the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in 5 years’ time.
