Place2Be is a children's mental health charity that works to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. We help them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

Story

On 28 July 2024, Daniel Sugrue, tragically lost his fight to mental health and sadly took his own life. Daniel was kind, caring, intelligent and so very special. Daniel meant so much to everyone and will be greatly missed

Four "old" boys from the Investment Trust community have decided to run the Olympic Park Half marathon to raise awareness of the families chosen charity - Place2Be - but more importantly to make you aware that Daniel's sister, Abigail, is running the London Marathon in April and to try and direct any sponsorship you feel you can make towards her efforts.

Her fund raising link is here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/abigail-sugrue-1725474553419

With over 200 years on the "combined clock" James Millward, Matthew Wilson, Michael Sugrue (Daniel's Dad) and Phil Hopkins plan on 23 February to trundle around the Olympic Park and then seriously re-hydrate afterwards. We appreciate any support you are able to give Place2Be via Abigail or our own page but most importantly would ask you to positively impact someone's day - you can make the difference to someone that is struggling.

Place2Be

One in five children and young people now have a diagnosable mental health issue. That’s six children in every classroom with a condition like depression or anxiety.

Place2Be is the UK's leading school-based mental health charity, providing support to children, families and school-based staff when they need it most.

Please help me support Place2Be’s vital work, and together we can make a real difference to children's mental health and ensure that children don’t have to face mental health problems alone.
