Story
✨ Running for my Mum and MSA ✨
Earlier this year my mum was diagnosed with MSA, Multiple System Atrophy. A rare condition that's caused by a loss of nerve cells in the brain, which can lead to a wide range of problems with muscle control and movement and unfortunately it can’t currently be cured, but treatments are available to help manage symptoms. 🧡
In recognition of her powering through this unfair and incredibly challenging condition I’m taking part in a range races including:
🏃🏻♀️Stafford 10K - 21st Sept 2025
🏃🏻♀️Stafford Half Marathon - March 2026
🏃🏻♀️Manchester Marathon - 19th April 2026
One thing that’s struck me while she’s been in hospital is how little people, including medical staff, are aware of the condition. So alongside raising money I’m also hoping to raise awareness 📣

The Multiple System Atrophy Trust is the UK and Republic of Ireland's only charity dedicated to providing specialist support to all those affected by MSA; a life-limiting neurodegenerative condition. They rely entirely on voluntary donations to provide our free MSA Health Care Professional service, Social Welfare Specialist Service, a telephone helpline and regional in-person and digital support groups. They also fund research into both a cause and cure.
