Story
Anneka was just 33 when she died from a brain tumour. Our daughter Sienna was only 13 months old when she lost her mum.
Since losing Anneka, I’ve tried to turn something devastating into something positive by raising awareness and funds for brain tumour research. With the help of so many amazing people, we’ve now raised over £100,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity.
But the reality is that brain tumours are still the biggest cancer killer of people under 40, and they continue to receive far less funding than many other cancers.
So we don’t stop here.
My next challenge i hope to attempts is an Ironman. A 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and a full marathon to finish.
The truth is, I can’t even swim properly yet. But that feels fitting in a way — because when Anneka was diagnosed, we were thrown into something we were never prepared for.
This challenge is for Anneka, for Sienna, and for every family facing a brain tumour diagnosis 🫶
