Story
I was diagnosed with 2 rare cancers in 2019, one of which on my ankle, led my clinical teams to tell me I might never run again. I was determined to not lose hope, so I embarked on a training plan, whilst on cancer treatment, to Move more to strengthen my ankle & overall fitness! This included taking up cycling in May 2020. In 2021 I was told I was cancer free, so I wanted to give back to support other cancer patients & Move charity I believe support cancer patients like me to Move more. I have fundraised for Move for the last 3 year, Cycling Lands End to John O’Groats, Bolton Ironman in 2023 and 70.3 in 2024. At Bolton this year I qualified in my age group for the Wolf championships in New Zealand in December this year! I am so thrilled to be at the start line for this! Please support & information below gives more info on what the Move charity is about.
Thank you.
There's increasing evidence that moving more during and after cancer treatment can significantly improve physical & mental wellbeing. MOVE is embarking on a mission to support & inspire people to MOVE Against Cancer. We deliver an 8 week online programme for 13-30 year olds diagnosed with cancer. Our 5k Your Way initiative linked with parkrun, is a supportive community for anyone affected by cancer to go along to their local group & walk, jog, run, cheer or volunteer on the last Saturday of the month.
