Story
On 21st September, I will be taking on IRONMAN WALES — a 3.9km swim, 180km bike ride, and a 42.2km marathon, with over 3,000 metres of elevation gain, all in one day.
I’m doing it to raise money for Helen & Douglas House, a charity that provides specialist hospice care for children with life-limiting and terminal conditions, and vital support for their families.
I first raised money for Helen & Douglas House when I was 11 years old, and was fortunate enough to be invited to visit the hospice. That visit left a lasting impression on me. I saw first-hand the warmth, compassion, and round-the-clock care they provide—not just for the children, but for their parents, siblings, and wider family.
Helen & Douglas House was the world’s first children’s hospice, and to this day, it continues to lead the way in offering care for babies and children up to the age of 18. They create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where families can make precious memories together, even during the most difficult times.
Your donation will help provide expert medical care, emotional support, and a sense of peace to families who need it most.
Thank you for reading, and thank you even more if you’re able to support this extraordinary charity.
