Story
Last year I watched friends run the Hackney Half - and then shook hands in the pub after a few pints that I'd do it too in 2026.
So here we are. A few weeks away and a half marathon to run - and I’d like to raise some money and awareness for something important to me.
During these last six months, my Dad has been recovering from an aortic dissection he suffered just before Christmas, which came completely out of the blue. It is a miracle that we still have him.
A lot of you will know that my sister had open heart surgery at a week old. We've still got her, too.
That's two of the closest people to me affected by heart disease, and so I'm running this half marathon to raise a bit of money for the BHF (which my sister also does a lot of voluntary work for, too).
If you can spare a few quid, it'll power me through these last few weeks of throwing myself around Walthamstow - and give me that extra push on the day itself (Sunday 17th May).
Thank you!
