As president of the Insurance Institute of Leeds, this years nominated charity for the Insurance Institute of Leeds is the BTHFT Neonatal 'Home from Home' appeal.

Back in 2023 my daughter was born in the Bradford Neonatal Unit at 27 weeks weighing just under 1kg. Me and my wife lived in the hospital right next to our daughters ward in one of 5 rooms available for up parents with premature or sick babies. In the most challenging time of our lives, being able to stay so close to our child meant more than anything.

Whilst we were lucky and were moved to our local hospital within 3 weeks, other families are not so lucky and are in the ward for up to 6 months.

With this appeal BTHFT are looking to double their capacity for parents to be with their children, a short video can be found below:
