20 mile trek to Penlle’r Castell · 20 April 2025

HOME IS A HUMAN RIGHT. We exist to defend the right to a safe home in Wales and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We do this with advice, support and campaigns – and we never give up. We believe that home is everything. Stand with us. Join the fight.

Story

On Easter Sunday (April 20th) I will be hiking up to Penlle’r Castell on Mynydd Y Gwair - the highest point in the Swansea Area.

The roughly 20 mile hike will be in aid of a charity which is very important to me: Shelter Cymru.

Please feel free to donate whatever you can.

Anyone is free to join me on my journey (if they’re brave or silly enough) or at the summit.

To make things a little more interesting I plan to undertake the hike with only a rough idea of my route, and the use of just a map and compass to guide me.

I will however, be logging the trek on Strava to those interested and to prove I haven’t cheated…

In the meantime, wish me luck for the next few months of fitness training woes and sobriety.

Thank you so much for your support and please share!
