I’m running the Royal Parks Half Marathon this year to raise funds for RLS, our small but mighty team of brilliant frontline asylum lawyers who stand beside those forced to flee their homes.

Like you we've had more than enough: enough of people blaming migrants and refugees for years of political failure; and enough of desperate distractions to hide greed and inequality.

The need for our work has never been greater.

In recent months, we’ve seen a surge in far-right hatred and open racism across the UK. Earlier this month, RLS’s own offices were attacked by far-right thugs in an attempt to silence and intimidate.

It will not work.

Instead, it has strengthened our resolve to keep fighting for justice, dignity, and safety.

RLS provides displaced people with the vital legal advice and support they need to rebuild their lives. Whether that’s helping someone reunite with their family, access safety, or simply understand their rights, the work we do is life-changing. Though only a small charity, we punch hard —responding quickly and compassionately to new challenges, always guided by the communities they serve.

Every donation really can make a difference:

£30 could pay for an hour of interpretation so a client can be heard in their own language.

£50 could enable RLS to visit a refugee camp and provide urgent legal information.

£100 could help a family navigate the increasingly complex rules on refugee family reunion.

By supporting my run, you’ll be helping RLS continue this vital work—standing up for some of the most vulnerable people in our society, and pushing back against those that want to sow division and hatred.
