Story

My name is Isaac and I am 3 years old. I'm raising money for a charity close to mine and my families heart and would love your support if possible. Please read through my page to understand why I’m asking for sponsorship. 🩵

I will be taking part in different things throughout the year (where I can) but first up is….

✨ Noah’s Ark Hospital Superhero 5k Walk on 30th June (I can’t decide whether I’ll be Ironman or Spider-Man just yet!) ✨

🏃🏻‍♂️ Then my Daddy is running Cardiff Half Marathon for Noah’s Ark in October 🏃🏻‍♂️

My Story:

On December 2nd 2023, following being unwell with temperatures and what seemed ‘normal’ infections/germs, I had a CT scan which revealed a mass on the left side of my brain.

I was blue lighted down to Noah’s Ark Hospital on December 3rd with my Mummy & Daddy by my side. Here we lived each day in Owl Ward until December 22nd where we then voluntarily transferred to Prince Charles Hospital.

On December 7th, I underwent major brain surgery to remove the mass and fortunately, I had the best surgeon and neurological team who took the best care of me and the operation was successful.

I spent the night in intensive care and due to everything being okay, I was able to go back to Owl Ward the following day to continue my recovery. Much to everyone’s surprise, 2 days after my surgery, I was walking unassisted back to the playroom and saying hello to everyone in the corridors. I had to undergo numerous ultra sounds, blood tests, MRI and CT scans to determine a cause to the mass.

I remained on various IV antibiotics and steroids until January 19th and thankfully haven’t had to have anymore since. These antibiotics meant I had to be in hospital everyday as they couldn’t be given at home.

From the moment I arrived at Noah’s Ark to the moment I left, I received the best care from everyone I came into contact with; Surgeons, Specialists, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Play Therapists, Physiotherapists and everyone else inbetween.

My last CT scan was February 1st, 5 days before my baby brother, Dylan, was born and it was a positive result. I still have to have check ups but hopefully there won’t be anymore surgeries. I missed starting school in January but I am making up for lost time now playing with all my friends happily in my class.

One thing is for certain, I will be showing off my scar for years to come!

From Isaac’s Mummy & Daddy:

Please if possible, help with any sponsorship you are able to spare. This is a goal that as a family we would love to be able to give something back to a charity that is run purely from donations.

Noah’s Ark, in particular Owl Ward, gave us all the best support and understanding during what was our darkest time. Especially when I was 31+ weeks pregnant.

The nurses picked us up from the floor (literally) more than once and were there at all hours when we felt our world was falling apart with our little boy being so unwell.

The goal of Noah’s Ark Children's Hospital Charity is to create brighter todays and better tomorrows for the 73,000 children cared for at Wales’ only children's hospital each year. Isaac is now 1 of those children who has been cared for.

The charity strives to make the hospital a less frightening and more familiar place for children by sprinkling a little fun and happiness into hospital days.

We cannot express how much happiness all the staff brought to Isaac when he needed it. Isaac’s interests were always taken into consideration during his recovery and the interaction from everyone no matter how busy really put a smile on his little face.

Thankyou for reading and if any sponsorship can be given, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️ Be prepared for plenty of updates & photos! Sinead, Gareth (aka Eddie), Isaac & Dylan xxx
