Story
Why I’m running: In April 2026, I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of the Sevenoaks School Foundation, raising funds for bursaries that enable students to access an outstanding education, regardless of financial background.
Why Sevenoaks: Sevenoaks School is the leading International Baccalaureate (IB) school in the UK, and I had the privilege of spending two formative years there as a boarder in Girls International House (GIH) from 2005-07. Those years shaped me deeply, creating lifelong friendships with peers from around the world and instilling values of curiosity, independent thinking and global perspective that continue to guide me today.
Why access to education matters: Bursaries play a vital role in ensuring that opportunity is driven by potential, not privilege, and that diverse voices continue to enrich school communities. When young people are given access to high-quality education, supportive environments and inspiring role models, they gain confidence in their ability to shape their own future. By supporting my run, you are directly helping to open doors for students who may otherwise never have access to the education that allows them to thrive, grow and contribute meaningfully to the world.
Why this challenge, now: I run my own wellness business alongside my work as an energy transition policy consultant, living in Lausanne, Switzerland. I am really proud to be able to contribute positively to people’s mental and physical wellbeing through mindful movement. I only started running in 2024 to improve my hiking pace in the mountains (!!!), and this half marathon represents a personal milestone — a commitment to resilience, discipline and purposeful movement. I’ll be running alongside my best friend and former GIH room mate, Sofia. We shared the highs and lows of boarding school life, living far away from our families at a young age and motivating each other through late night study sessions before our final exams. More than 20 years later, we remain the best of friends, making this challenge especially meaningful to take on together.
Paying it forward: This run is my way of giving back and helping to pay forward the life-changing experience I had at Sevenoaks School, so that another student can benefit from the same opportunities, education and sense of belonging.
Every contribution, big or small, will make a real difference. If you’re able to donate, share the page, or simply cheer me on from afar, I’m incredibly grateful. Your support will keep me motivated through the training miles and help create opportunities for students who deserve them.
13.1 miles. One cause. Countless futures changed. Thank you for being part of this journey!
ISABELLA 💛
