On bank holiday Monday rather than bbqing or being in the pub I'll be donnig my best tallyho vibes and getting down in some gravy. All for a good cause. All I can say is. Welcome to the North 🤣
So.. in the list of crazy things I've done in my life Gravy wrestling has to be up there. The charity I'm supporting is Kirklees Valley Wildlife Centre local to us close to Ramsbottom. We signed up for their wildlife rescue transport service last year.
We've picked up milk for a baby deer, transported a hedgehog to be re released, baked cakes and our favourite unusual collection has to be two baby wrens in Manchester on our way back from a van trip where the bouncer at the day rave said "are you the vets here to collect the pigeons".
Michael and I spend a lot to time in nature walking and swimming and we truly feel like we wanted to help all the amazing wildlife that we share and impact habitats with. Kirklees are amazing and work tirelessly supporting so many animals around the clock including injured swans, hedgehogs, badgers, foxes, birds, deers, you name a member of UK wildlife and they've probably saved one!
Their running costs are huge and any money will go to buy vital feed and supplies for their rehabilitation centre.
On a personal note I've had a tough couple of years with my thyroid so I'm proud that I've got the gusto to go and throw myself in some gravy. Proud or stupid. Still working that one out. My late aunty Moppie would have been very up for this. Her motto was do it now and her husband is from Lancashire. You wanted Gravy you got Gravy. Now eat it!
