Issie’s fundraiser for Bone Cancer Research Trust

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Thrilled and terrified to be running the 2025 London Marathon!
Feeling very grateful to get to take part in the Marathon, especially for such a great cause. Following in the footsteps of many of my amazing friends, I will be supporting the Bone Cancer Research Trust and Fitzy’s Fund in memory of Sam Fitzsimmons.
Sam, or Fitzy, came into my life at university, a bundle of whit and humour (see profile photo for a baby Sam and I). He cared deeply about others, more so than himself, and had an immense appetite for life and all its trials and tribulations. All of these sentiments he carried with him until his death from Ewing sarcoma on 16 May 2020, age 23.
The aim of Fitzys Fund is to fund vital research into Ewing sarcoma where current treatments are limited and survival rates for metastatic disease are dismal. Fitzy’s Fund has already raised a whopping £400,000 in memory of Sam, going towards the vital research done and support given by BCRT.
Thank you for any donations, it’s much appreciated!
