I'm running Great North Run 2025 to raise money and awareness for Macular Society! As some of you may know, my dad has had problems with his eyes for years and not many people know about macular disease yet so many people are affected by it. Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. It usually impacts people aged 50-60, however it can begin earlier than this. It's also hereditary so can affect the families of those who have macular disease too! This is why it is so important that money is raised because Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world class research, and the best advice and support. Medical research will lead us to the cure we need to beat macular disease for the next generation.

It steals your sight, your confidence, and your ability to do the things you love.

There is only one way to Beat Macular Disease for good. We must fund much more research now, until we find a cure, or find treatments that stop it in its tracks.
