Story
My name is Javeria Abid (Juwairiya), and I am working with Islamic Relief Ireland to support six orphans in Gaza, Palestine, from today, Ramadan 1446/2025.
I don’t think I need to use my words to convince you why they need your help — because in reality, it’s us who need them.
As Ramadan comes to a close, let’s not let go of the good habits we’ve nurtured this month. The prayers, the charity, the kindness—these acts of worship don’t end with Eid. The people of Gaza, especially the orphaned children, need our support every single day. Let’s carry the spirit of Ramadan forward by making giving a habit—so that our Sadaqah continues to be a means of mercy for them and a source of blessing for us and a Sadaqah Jariya for our parents.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“You will be with those whom you love.” Sahih al-Bukhari 3688
To love an orphan is to love the Prophet ﷺ himself, because he too was an orphan. Imagine standing before Allah and being counted among those who loved and cared for orphans, following the footsteps of our beloved Messenger ﷺ. What greater honor could there be?
Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) tells us:
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is that of a grain that sprouts into seven ears, each bearing one hundred grains. And Allah multiplies ˹the reward even more˺ to whoever He wills. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing.”
(Qur’an 2:261)
This is our chance to keep that reward growing. Whether it’s a small weekly donation or a commitment to give regularly, every euro you give will help provide food, shelter, education, and care for these six orphans. Imagine the impact of your generosity stretching beyond this world into the akhirah.
May Allah accept from you, bless your wealth, and allow you to be a means of mercy for those in need.
