Story

September this year, I’ll be taking on a marathon. This is something I never imagined I’d be brave or mad enough to do. I’m doing it for a cause that goes above and beyond for giving animals a second chance: All Dogs and Cats Rescue Scotland.

Last year, I adopted my dog Rupert from the rescue. He came into my life at a time when I didn’t realise just how much I needed him. What started as giving a dog a home quickly became one of the most grounding, joyful things in my life. Rupert is living proof of the incredible work this rescue does, from second chances to forever homes. He's my best friend, running and hiking buddy, and of course a snuggle bug.

In March last year, I began running more regularly, mostly as a way to clear my head and challenge myself. By August, I surprised myself by completing my first ever 10k, and in October, I crossed the finish line of my first half marathon.

This marathon feels like the natural next chapter. It’s about pushing my limits, staying consistent when things get tough, and running for something bigger than myself. Every mile I run is for dogs like Rupert, and for the animals still waiting for safety, care, and love.

On this page you can follow my training journey as the marathon date draws closer.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, you’ll be helping All Dogs and Cats Rescue Scotland continue their life-changing work. Thank you so much for supporting me, cheering me on, and helping animals get the happy endings they deserve 🐶💙💛❤️🐱
