In 2024 the RNLI is celebrating it's 200 year anniversary. It also marks 90 years of Islay RNLI and 10 years of our new station on Port Askaig pier - that's a lot to celebrate!

About the RNLI

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. More than ever people need the help of the RNLI but too many people are still drowning. The RNLI has been saving lives at sea around the UK and Ireland for 200 years, since the charity was founded in 1824, its volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved an incredible 146,277 lives.

This needs to change and thanks to your help, it can.

Islay lifeboat station is crewed by volunteers, who provide a 24 hour search and rescue service. We rely on the support of our local communities to power our lifesaving service. Your support will help the running of lifeboat stations like Islay and, ultimately, help to save lives.
