The RSPCA Isle of Wight is an independently registered Island-based charity which supports the work of the RSPCA at a local community level. Originally established in the 1950s, we fundraise on the Island in order to support its most vulnerable animals.

Story

Across the UK, we are experiencing the worst rabbit rescue crisis ever. Rescue centres are struggling to cope with the amount of rabbits currently being neglected, mistreated and surrendered. Myself and Paige have witnessed this firsthand, we work together in the Rabbitry at RSPCA Isle of Wight Branch.

Our Rabbitry has been at full capacity for most of the year!

Despite Rabbits and small furries being one of the most popular pets, they are amongst the most neglected.

People think they are easy pets but they are far from it, they require quality spacious accomodations of a certain size, rabbits need access at all times to an enclosed outside space, nutritious food, fresh fruit/veggies/herbs, enrichment tools and complex vet bills. But with that being said they do make the most wonderful pets, full of character and charm! Not to mention how cute they look!

Myself and Paige wanted to do something to raise some much needed funds to improve our Rabbitry facilities and provide our rabbits and smalls in care with the best start in their forever homes.

We are hoping to raise as much money as we can by challenging ourselves with an Abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. We wanted to do something locally and out of our comfort zone. It should be fun, famous last words!

We would really appreciate any donation you can make and we thank you for your support!
