Story
I’m running the London Marathon for Alzheimer’s Society, a charity that means a lot to me and my family.
In 2020, we lost our lovely Nan after her long journey with mixed dementia. It was incredibly hard watching her change over time, as dementia gradually took away the person we knew and loved so much.
In her final years, she was cared for by the amazing team at Monkscroft Care Centre, and we’ll always be grateful for the love and compassion they showed her.
While Covid-19 may have ended her life, it was dementia that really took her from us. That’s why I’m running for Alzheimer’s Society - to help fund vital research and support, so that fewer families have to go through the same thing.
Alzheimer’s Society is working towards a future where no one has to face dementia alone, and where individuals and their loved ones are no longer left to suffer the devastating effects of this disease. If you’re able to donate, I’d be so grateful - every step brings us closer to that future.
