Story

In July, I’m running the Saucony London 10K to raise funds for Endometriosis UK, a charity supporting those affected by a condition that impacts 1 in 10 women.

This cause is deeply personal to me, following my Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) diagnosis in 2023. Whilst different to endometriosis, PCOS is still a condition where the ovaries contain multiple immature follicles (cysts) and can affect hormone levels, periods, fertility and overall wellbeing. Like many people living with gynaecological conditions, I still have hundreds of unanswered questions due to the lack of knowledge around these issues.

My experience with PCOS has also opened my eyes to the challenges faced by so many others living with reproductive health conditions, including close friends and loved ones who have endometriosis. While PCOS and endometriosis are different conditions, they share many of the same frustrations: symptoms that can be dismissed, long waits for answers, chronic pain, fatigue, and the emotional impact of living with an often invisible illness.

I’ve seen first-hand how endometriosis can affect every aspect of a person’s life, from work to mental health and future family plans. Yet despite affecting 1 in 10 females, it still takes an average of eight years to receive a diagnosis in the UK.

That’s why I’m running the Saucony London 10K.

Every donation will help Endometriosis UK continue their vital work, providing support, information and advocacy for those living with endometriosis, while campaigning for earlier diagnosis, better treatment and greater awareness.

Whether you’ve experienced these conditions yourself, supported someone who has, or simply want to help create change, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.

Thank you for helping me raise awareness and funds for a cause that means so much to me and to so many people I care about.
