Isobel's fundraiser for Brain Tumour Research

Jurassic Coast Challenge 2025 · 17 May 2025 to 18 May 2025 ·
On the 17th May, I will be taking on my biggest challenge yet and running a 100km ultra marathon across the Jurassic Coast to raise money for Brain Tumour Research. This amazing charity has a vision to find a cure for all brain tumours. Historically, 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours, which can have devastating and long term impact on individuals and their loved ones.
This charity is close to my heart as several people around me have been impacted by brain tumours, including my mum, Cate. After suffering for three years of being unwell and a misdiagnosis, mum was diagnosed with a brain tumor on her right frontal lobe in April 2023.
I first saw the impact of brain tumours on individuals and families after I had the privilege of meeting Benny. We call him Benny the brave because he was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was two years old. Watching Benny over the years and the impact it has had on his family has been difficult but they take everything in their stride with fight and positivity.
Fortunately Mum and Benny's scans have been clear and without this research and understanding brain tumors and looking for a cure this might not be the case.
I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
