Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m doing a sponsored walk on the 1st of July in memory of my wonderful Uncle who passed away very recently from a rare fungal disease. Mucormycosis is one of a group of fungal diseases, and 1.7 in a million people get it. Very sadly after a painful 2 months of fighting very hard and going through a lot of surgery, we lost Uncle John. I’m doing this walk to raise money for Fungal Infection Trust which is a UK based charity that puts money towards promoting education and finding treatments and cures for this collection of diseases. Although Mucormycosis is very rare, fungal infections kill around 1.8 million people a year and are often very hard to treat. This walk is dedicated to my mum and her sister, my grandma and my lovely Aunt.
