Story
If seeing that I've got a place in the London Marathon 2027 has come as a shock to you... imagine the shock I got when that email landed in my inbox! I genuinely couldn't believe it. I'm definitely not a runner, and l won't pretend to be one, but I've been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to challenge myself, so I'm going to give it everything I've got.
This was only my second time entering the ballot. I entered for 2027 because I'm getting married next year and will be saying goodbye to my maiden name, Slater. I thought it would be pretty special to give the Slater name one last amazing achievement before starting a new chapter!
The last time I asked people to support me, l threw myself out of a plane from 15,000 feet for charity... so apparently I have a habit of saying yes to slightly crazy challenges!
This time, I'm raising money for Rescue Kitties, a small but incredible charity that does everything they can to help cats in need. They foster cats in their own homes, rescue and rehome them, and face huge veterinary bills to give every cat the care it deserves. We adopted our two beautiful cats, Eddie and Mary, from Rescue Kitties, and they have become the light of our lives.
Supporting the charity that brought them into our family means so much to me, and every donation will help them continue their amazing work, giving more cats the chance of a safe, happy, and loving home.
Whether you donate, share my page, or simply cheer me on as I somehow make it round 26.2 miles, I can't thank you enough.
Every bit of support means the world to me, and to all the cats Rescue Kitties will continue to help.
