Story
Much appreciate you taking the time to visit my just giving page.
On the 6th October I will be taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon (my first ever half marathon), in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
On October 8th 2019 (my 21st Birthday), Dad (Rich) took himself into hospital with chest pain later to be told he had suffered a mild heart attack, After a week in hospital and numerous tests later, came the news that he required a quintuple heart bypass. This was an enormous shock to someone who lived a healthy and very active lifestyle.
4 months after the surgery, he was back swimming and walking on a daily basis and is now back to his normal incredible self who still needs to be told when to slow down and chill!
This is due in large part to the amazing treatment carried out by the NHS and life saving research performed by the British Heart Foundation. It therefore seems appropriate to run around Cardiff in aid of a wonderful charity that means so much to my family.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
Thank you!
