Story
It's me, it's me, it's Lee The PT.
I am a PureGym personal trainer who has lived with Tourette Syndrome for over 20 years. Only recently have I really talked about it openly.
For the last few months, I've been working on starting a programme to train younger people who suffer from tics, Tourette's, or other neurological disorders that affect their ability to train confidently in the gym on their own. I've also been offering free PT sessions to those affected by these conditions.
To help raise money for Tourettes Action, I'll be looking to take part in EVERY CLASS on my gym's timetable for the entire week. That works out to around 30+ classes over 7 days, starting Monday June 1st. The gym will also be hosting a fitness challenge for members to take part on the final day, Sunday June 7th (Tourettes Awareness Day).
Despite being a personal trainer, I'm miles away from being a cardio machine, and I cannot even begin to describe just how much of a challenge a week full of classes will be for me. I'd really appreciate any donation you can send my way to help a cause close to me and raise awareness of a condition that is far more common than people realise.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
