The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. In 2024 we assisted more than 64,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2026 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.

Story

I’VE-BIN-RUNNING.

This year I will be running the City of Lincoln 10Km with a full size WHEELIE BIN on my back to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

As I approach the final years of my service and begin preparing for retirement, I wanted to set myself a meaningful challenge, one that reflects both my time in uniform and my desire to continue pushing myself physically and mentally. In 2017, I made a personal commitment to make a positive impact within my community and the RAF, and since then I have raised money every year through a variety of sporting events and, at times, slightly unconventional challenges.

This year, I am taking that commitment a step further by running the Lincoln 10K with a wheelie bin on my back. This additional challenge is intended to test my resilience and determination even more, while also helping to draw attention to the cause. I have chosen to support the RAF Benevolent Fund as a way of giving back to a charity that provides vital support to RAF personnel, veterans, and their families something that is particularly important to me as I look ahead to the next chapter of my life.
