Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In May 2026, we tragically lost a vibrant, kind, hard-working beautiful person. Her name was Kate.
Kate is my cousin, but to others she was a loving and supportive wife, a doting new mother and an incredible sister and daughter and a wonderful friend. She was loved by so many and didn't have a bad bone in her body, she radiated positivity and kindness and always put others before her. Always thinking of the silver linings in life and never letting anything, not even cancer, rob her of the joy she felt and shared with others.
Kate was only 27 years old when she passed and was taken way too soon. She leaves behind a beautiful trail of memories and a legacy that will forever live on in her son, and within the hearts of so many of us.
Kate was diagnosed at the start of the year in 2026 with Breast Cancer, a handful of months after giving birth to her son. She had undergone treatment, however unfortunately, Kate's cancer had spread to her brain and become terminal.
Her battle was very sudden and very short, and yet she always remained steadfast in her positivity - telling us all "don't worry, be happy" - truly an admirable person to the very end, and beyond.
Due to generational differences and growing up in different parts of the country and living our own different paths, I was never able to be a full part of her life, but the times I did share with her meant the world to me. I watched her grow up, I remember holding her when she was a baby and I experienced first-hand the genuine compassion and consideration that everyone speaks so highly of. She gave me comfort in moments when others could not, and I will never forget that.
So, with that being said, I invite you all to join me with this fundraiser to honour Kate's legacy of kindness.

Thanks for supporting my fundraising. The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, and every one of them needs the best support to meet their unique needs.
That's why Macmillan will do whatever it takes to help everyone living with cancer across the UK get the support they need right now and transform cancer care for everyone who will be diagnosed in the future.
