Story
We’re raising money for AFK because every child deserves the opportunity to be active, independent and included, regardless of the challenges they face. AFK helps provide mobility equipment, life-changing support and opportunities that enable disabled children and young people to live life to the fullest.
For us, this challenge is all about Ivy.
We first met Ivy when I started teaching Forest School, and I’ve had the pleasure of not just teaching her over the last few years, but seeing her cheeky smile every day through school. Every week she amazes us with her determination and willingness to keep trying in everything she does.
But Ivy isn’t just brave and determined, she’s also cheeky, funny and full of personality! She has a wonderful sense of humour, loves making people laugh and brings so much joy to everyone around her.
Our family wanted to take on this triathlon not only to raise money for AFK, but to celebrate Ivy and the inspiration she is. Brogan, Acer and Tali are each going to support Ivy around the course - a 150m swim, 3km bike and 1 km push or run.
We hope everyone who meets her will see what we see: a little girl who doesn’t let anything hold her back and who reminds us all that courage, resilience and a smile can go a very long way.
Thank you for supporting Team Ivy and AFK. Every donation, big or small, will help create more opportunities for children like Ivy to thrive.
