Iwan Graff is raising money for UK Sepsis Trust

Ljubljana Marathon · 17 October 2026

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

Hello!

I am running the Ljubljana Marathon on 17th of July and raising money for UK sepsis trust.

This is my first ever marathon. The London one was oversubscribed and quite frankly the weather and beer in Slovenia are going to be better anyway.

Sepsis is a silent killer which can affect anyone, and Sepsis UK do important work fighting this condition that claims 48,000 to 50,000 UK lives every year. This means sepsis causes five deaths every hour in the UK, which is more than breast, bowel, and prostate cancers combined.

Please donate generously to support this charity and their brilliant work!
