London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Welcome to our London Marathon 2025 team page! We have an amazing team of runners who are training very hard to achieve their London Marathon dream, so please help motivate them to the finish line!

Story

Not sure if I should be classed as lucky, but through the ballot I got a place to run the 2025 London Marathon.

Those that know me well, will know I am by no means a natural runner, more an amazing eater, with a need to exercise. So a couple of 1/2 Marathons in, and with some friends and family around me recently running Marathons, they have inspired me to do the same.

So why this Charity?

My Dad died when I was 25, andI feel lucky to have had him for 25 years. I was a young adult with very supportive friends and family around me. I cannot begin to imagine how I would have coped had I lost my dad as a child, or without that support network.

This past year:

I have lost my Cousin Emma, who has left behind her two older children. She was an Incredibly gentle and kind person. I hope they feel as supported and cared for as I did, but if not, this charity would support them.

One of our best friends, Paul died leaving his gorgeous four year old Son, and a Wife who is having to navigate her own grief, whilst also supporting their Son.

And coming back to my Dad - who was always fundraising and involved in some sort of charity event, I think he’d be pretty chuffed to think I was running for such a worthwhile cause.

So please, if you can contribute anything to help give me the kick up that ass I need to drag myself around London in memory of my Dad, Emma and Paul, and the families they have left behind, it would mean so much.

The Charity

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.

We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

We offer free, confidential bereavement support by telephone, video or instant messenger, as well as face to face from a number of locations across the UK.
