Hello all!

This is nothing like I have done before but I am super excited to announce…

I have signed up for a 10-day trek and volunteer project to Machu Picchu in November to raise money for Hospiscare!

Hospiscare is an independent local charity that has been supporting people in Devon living with life-limiting illnesses for over 40 years. They support over 2,000 people each year during some of the hardest times imaginable but with only 18% of their funding coming from the NHS, Hospiscare needs to raise around £10 million annually to continue providing their essential care.

This is where we come in!

The trip is 10 days, with 2 days dedicated to volunteering in a community project in the Sacred Valley. The remaining days will be spent trekking the Salkantay Trail, ending at Machu Picchu. We’ll reach altitudes of 4,630 meters (nearly three times the height of Ben Nevis!), navigate tough terrain, camp in the Andes and face all kinds of weather conditions - it’s not going to be easy….

To fundraise and train for this trek, I will also be taking part in the Bournemouth Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October 2024.

The next few months are going to be filled with lots of training and fundraising, so I’d love for you to follow me on my journey! Your support means so much - every donation helps Hospiscare continue their incredible work. I am self-funding the trip so 100% of the money raised will go directly to Hospiscare!
