Running 5KM everyday for 28 days · 28 January 2025

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On the 28th January I turn 28 years old, so in the lead up to this I will be running 5km every day for 28 days.

In October 2021, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at just 62 years old. This experience has opened my eyes to the profound impact this condition has on families, especially young carers who navigate the delicate balance of supporting their loved ones while processing their own emotions.

I'm running not just for my mother, but for every family touched by Alzheimer's. Together, we can shine a light on the unique challenges faced by young caregivers and create a community of understanding, support, and hope. Every step I take is dedicated to raising awareness and showing others in similar situations that they are not alone in this journey.
