Story
On 14 April 2024 I’ll be taking part in the Manchester Marathon on behalf of Aid for Children with Tracheostomies (ACT).
ACT are a small organisation that offers encouragement, support and practical advice to families facing a trying time after their child has had a tracheostomy.
In 1993, my older brother, Louis, sadly passed away at the age of 8 months old. Louis’ suffered from a number of health complications arising from a premature birth including tracheo malacia (collapsing windpipe) which meant he had to have a tracheostomy to aid his breathing. In what was a very difficult time ACT were able to offer support to my mum and dad and I’d like to be able to help the charity so that they can continue to provide aid to families in similar positions. I’ve set the goal at £500 but if we can exceed that, that would be great.
